Is it dangerous to have high schoolers dive right into algebraic solutions to equations without having them use tables first?

Oh gosh. I've got to get a copy of that algebra text. My daughter would LOVE that. She's currently using one that was first published in the 1930's and although I love her modern text, Singapore Discovering Mathemtics, she much prefers the simple and straightforward texts the one in your post.
