If the goal of this is to teach kids through real-world experience, there's a major flaw. No one in the real world is going to do this on a calculator. They'll plug it into Excel or a spreadsheet program and be done in a couple clicks.

This also would have been a good place for one of the establishment's heralded explanatory answers. They could have asked for an explanation of standard deviation and what R is. They could have asked for the equations and steps required to perform the task. They could have had fill-in-the blank charts that had many of the numbers done already, and the student would just have to do one or two per step.

As it stands, this just asks student whether they've figured out how to use their calculator and tells nothing about their understanding of the math.
